Dave Martin is a Scottish professional and accomplished  musician, sound designer and  educator who has worked and performed through out the UK and overseas with a wealth of theatre/production/dance companies, solo artists, visual artists, groups  and dancers.  Such as the National Theatre of Scotland, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Ankur productions, Grid Iron, Eden Court, The Tramway Glasgow, the Sherman Cardiff, 7;84, Wild frontier Productions, Rightlines, Wildbird, Poorboy Productions, John Cooper Clarke, Plan B, Suns Of Arqa, Dodgy, Nick Lloyd Webber, Kevin McKidd, Cosmic Voyage, to name but a few.  He has also produced music for film and for radio.



As well as working and collaborating with other artists, performers and companies, Dave has recorded on more than 20 albums and as well as working on his his own original material and projects under the name Big Fat Electric and I Will Take You Hunting  which are always evolving and developing. He loves to try out different ideas and styles and perform in weird and wonderful places like car parks, forests, historical sites as well as festivals and venues.

Dave likes experimenting with sound and likes to record organic and natural audio which he creates audio samples with for live performance/installations/exhibitions in all sorts of places and spaces.

Dave is also a much respected, inspiring and passionate educator and workshop facilitator  and regular runs classes and workshops for children, young people and adults in composition, sound design, electronic music production and percussion.

In 2017 Dave was nominated for Na Trads Music Tutor of the year award.

Through this work Dave formed electronic multi media educational experience Electrolabs and is also a regular tutor with Feis Rois, Feis Spe, Feis  Mhoireibh, Aberdeenshire Local Authority and Eden Court Inverness.

Dave is heavily involved in the traditional music scene in Scotland and working in partnership with the National Theatre of Scotland co produced a new contemporary ceilidh experience mixing club culture with ceilidh culture which is now known as the Big Fat Electric Ceilidh and is performing all over Scotland.

Dave was also nominated for Trad Tutor of the year at the Scottish Trad Music Awards 2017.
